I first built -=Cannon Fodder=- in 2003, using steam's dedicated server, running on the pc which i play on, back then i only had a 2Meg internet connection which was just enough for 4 other people to connect, add me and my brother on the lan side, and i had a 6 man server. after a few weeks of waiting for people to join, i decided i needed some bots, using bots meant that there was always someone on the server to play against. and also i could have more opponents without increasing the lag. after trying a few different types of bots, i finally settled on PODbot 2.5. (i later changed to the metamod version PODbot_mm 3)

not long after the bots came along i discovered AMXmod, and the newer AMXmodX. along with metamod, AMXmodX opens up a whole new world of counter-strike mods and plugins.
